Wall Decal FAQ’s
How do I apply my wall decal?
It’s so easy…
- Clean the wall surface with a warm damp cloth or sponge and allow it to completely dry.
- Peel the top portion of the decal down and position on wall.
- Slowly pull the backing sheet off in a downward motion smoothing the decal as you go.
- If any air bubbles or wrinkles appear, you can lightly press or smooth them out, or just peel back that area and re-apply.
- To reposition, just lift an edge and peel it off the wall.
Detailed instructions will be included with your purchase.
What indoor surfaces are suitable for the wall decals?
Our wall decals are suitable for use on all painted surfaces, including acrylic or enamel, gloss or matte finish, and Wash & Wear paints. Glass, wood, brick and rendered walls are also suitable but keep in mind the smoother the surface the better the result.
Do I need to prepare the wall?
Painted walls will need to have been previously primed and painted with two top coats. If the wall is newly painted, allow 30 days before applying decal to prevent outgassing. Clean the surface with a damp cloth and allow to dry before applying your decal. Do not clean the wall with chemicals, just use warm water.
What are the wall decals made of?
We use only the highest quality matte finish polyester fabric with a gum-like adhesive on the back. It is free of PVC’s, lead, pthalates, glycol-ethers and formaldehydes.
Will the wall decals tear?
No. We use fabric, not vinyl, so your wall decal will not tear, shrink or stretch. As with all fabric you may find some fraying on the edges but these can easily be snipped off.
Will the decals leave residue on my walls?
No! The gum-like adhesive will not harden or discolour over time and the decals will come off the wall without leaving any damage. Our wall decals are totally landlord friendly.
Can I reposition my wall decal?
Yes! As many times as you like. Our wall decals are 100% removable and movable fabric.
Can I clean my wall decal?
We suggest lightly wiping the decal with a duster. Do not wipe with a damp cloth or cleaning agent.
Can I request a sample for testing?
Absolutely! We want you to be 100% confident with our product and we are happy to send you a small complimentary sample for testing. Just send us a message with your postal details on the Contact Us page.
Do I need to cut the decal to size?
No. The wall decal will arrive ready to peel and stick to your wall.
Does the wall decal actually come in a real wood frame?
No. That’s the beauty of our innovative wall decals. They have been created to look as though they are actually framed!
Are the wall decals opaque?
Yes. You can apply the decals to any coloured surface without show-through occurring.
Can I request any of your paper prints to be converted to a wall decal?
In most cases yes. Just send us a note, with the print name, through the Contact Us page and we will run you through the process.
Will my wall decal look exactly as pictured?
Depending on your viewing device you may find the colours vary slightly. If anything, they might be slightly stronger due to the absorption of ink on the decal fabric.
Can I take my wall decal with me when I move house?
Absolutely! We suggest you hold onto the backing sheet so you can restick the decal when you’re ready to move. Baking paper or a plastic sheet can also be used, just restick and roll it up.
Where are the wall decals designed and printed?
All of our wall decals are designed and professionally printed in-house in Melbourne, Australia.
How often do you update the wall decal designs?
We are constantly updating our range, so it’s a good idea to check back in from time to time.
What is the lifespan of the wall decals?
Your wall decals will last for years without curling, stretching or falling off the wall.
What if I want to return my wall decal?
No dramas. If you have had a change of mind we will accept returns on unused decals only. Please go to our Shipping & Returns page for policies.
